The type of amplifier that provides uniform gain over a wide range of frequencies is a direct coupled amplifier. This type of amplifier is designed to allow the signal to pass from one stage to the next without significant alteration to amplitude or frequency content.

In direct coupled amplifiers, the output of one stage is directly connected to the input of the next stage, eliminating the need for capacitive coupling which can introduce frequency response limitations. As a result, these amplifiers are capable of maintaining consistent gain across a broad spectrum of frequencies, making them particularly useful in applications that require fidelity in signal amplification, such as audio or RF applications.

Other types of amplifiers, like transformer amplifiers, tend to have frequency response limitations due to the characteristics of the transformers used, which can introduce frequency-dependent gain variations. Filter amplifiers, meanwhile, are designed to selectively amplify certain frequency ranges and attenuate others, which inherently creates non-uniform gain across the spectrum. Limiter amplifiers also do not provide uniform gain; they work by preventing the output signal from exceeding a certain level, thus distorting the gain characteristics based on the input signal's amplitude.
